Leavenworth Alpine Tours offers private guided Jeep 4x4 interpretive tours into the high country around Leavenworth, WA. We take guests into the Okanogan‑Wenatchee National Forest for safe, hosted access to alpine views, local history, and ecology.

Our tours are ideal for adults, families, and small groups who want a backcountry-style experience without hiking long distances or driving rough forest roads themselves. If you can comfortably sit in a vehicle for a few hours, you’ll be fine.

No. All tours are fully guided and driven by your guide. You simply ride, relax, and enjoy the scenery.

We currently offer three core experiences:

• Sugarloaf Summit: 4‑hours – Difficulty: Advanced
  • $447: Weekends (Saturday and Sunday)
  • $397: Weekdays (Tuesday thru Friday)
    
• Chumstick Peak Tour: 3‑hours – Difficulty: Intermediate
  • $347: Weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
  • $297: Weekday (Tuesday thru Friday)
    
• Bavarian Vista: 2-hours – Difficulty: Beginner 
  • $247: Weekend (Saturday and Sunday)
  • $197: Weekday (Tuesday thru Friday)

We operate with one Jeep to start. Typically we can host up to 4 passengers comfortably, depending on group makeup. If you have a larger group, contact us and we’ll see what’s possible.

Each tour includes a professional driver‑guide, use of our 4x4 Jeep, interpretive commentary, photo stops, and basic safety gear. Snacks and water are not provided .

Mountain weather changes fast. We recommend:

• Water
• Snacks
• Closed‑toe shoes
• Layered clothing (even in summer)
• Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen)
• A light jacket
• Camera or smartphone for photos

We run tours in most conditions, but safety comes first. If we need to cancel due to weather or road conditions, you’ll receive a full refund or the option to reschedule. 

• Cancellations 7+ days before your tour: Full refund or free reschedule (subject to availability).
• Cancellations 3–6 days before your tour: 50% refund, or one‑time free reschedule if we can rebook your spot.
• Cancellations within 72 hours of tour time or no‑shows: No refund. At this point we’ve reserved the vehicle, guide, and time just for you. 
• Late arrivals: Tours leave on time. If you’re late and miss the departure, it counts as a no‑show with no refund.

Yes. Your guide is trained in mountain driving, trip planning, and risk management. We stick to legal, designated roads and adjust routes based on current conditions. That said, this is a mountain environment, so a sense of adventure and flexibility is part of the experience.

Yes, children are welcome as long as they meet legal seat belt/booster requirements and are able to remain seated during the drive. Let us know the ages of any children when booking so we can advise on the best tour and seating.

Our main season is May to November, depending on road and snow conditions. Outside these months, access to trail roads are closed and often block by snow.
